We returned to Sekou-Toure Hospital in Mwanza with two volunteer surgeon educators:  Dr. Kaveh Alizadeh (Mission: Restore’s founder) and Dr. Morad Askari from the University of Miami.  We continued to work closely with the Chief of Surgery as well as a new promising young resident, Dr. Paul Itule.

This trip included 24 operations and 39 consultations, all of which were done with our local partners.  In addition both Dr. Alizadeh and Dr. Askari gave lectures and hands-on training for doctors, residents, interns and nursing staff.  We have maintain ongoing relationships with our partners through regular skype calls and consultations to ensure continued support and educational opportunities between surgical missions.
