We’re excited to announce that we’re raising funds to support the reconstructive surgical education of our Educational Grantee, Dr. Paul Itule!

We first met the amazing Dr. Itule at the Sekou-Toure Regional Hospital in Tanzania. We were immediately impressed by Dr. Itule’s dedication to serving his community, his natural leadership, and his mentorship of younger doctors, despite his own young age and the challenges presented by the local healthcare system.

Dr. Itule has recently been accepted to a prestigious surgical training program at the University of Nairobi to specialize in reconstructive surgery. As the first recipient of our newly launched grant, we will be supporting Dr. Itule as he begins this exciting new chapter!

Our Educational Grant program is a way to identify young doctors who are motivated not only to enhance their own surgical skills, but to give back to their communities in long-term, impactful ways. A contribution towards Dr. Itule’s continued medical education is an investment not only in his capacity to continue to provide quality surgical care, but also in his ability to share his knowledge and build a vibrant network of trained local surgeons.
